Yet another lesson concerning Swiss Rudimental Ideas. This time the main focus is finding ways to apply these typical patterns to the drumset in a way that is not a blatantly obvious application of rudiments but rather a way of extracting musical ideas from these traditional pieces. Taken from the “Arabi”, Claus explores the use of the Flammed 5-Stroke Roll, Doublé, and Pataflafla. Later in the lesson he also shares the possibilities of creating your own unique patterns, as well as the relationship between certain rudiments by adding or removing strokes.
