In the second instalment of ‘Practice With’, the topic of focus is dialling in your Moeller Technique through different triplet exercises, and by isolating each hand within said patterns. The second part of the lesson focuses on playing triplets within the triplets. With these exercises you might find it quite challenging to maintain the appropriate hand movements that tie in with achieving these different accents. As always, it is imperative to remain relaxed the whole way through. In this session Claus also addresses a very interesting question: how slow is too slow? Practicing Moeller movements at a tempo which requires you to tackle each stroke separately renders the exercise redundant, so be sure to check out Claus’ response for more information on this!
